Handmade black pearl ring

A unique handmade sterling silver and gold ring set with a south sea black pearl. 

The pearl is an 8mm diameter half section and comes from the Cook islands. I was fortunate to acquire a small parcel of quality black pearls from my mother who resides in Rarotonga.

The gold granulations contrast beautifully against the pearl itself and makes for a very eyecatching ring.

The rich natural texture on the 10mm wide sterling silver band is achieved by a traditional artisan technique called reticulation and is only found on handmade silver jewellery.
